Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and summarizeimages.com ("we", "us"). They govern your use of https://summarizeimages.com and the image-to-text and summarization tools on it (the "Service").

By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

The Service lets you upload an image and get back the text in it, plus a short summary. It is free and does not require an account. You can add up to 10 images at a time, up to 20 MB each, in JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, GIF, or BMP. We may add, change, or remove features, and we do not guarantee that a particular format, language, or processing speed will always be available.

The extracted text follows the language in the image. The summary is written in English.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA and UK) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm that you can accept these Terms for it.

Free use and limits

  • The Service is free. We do not ask you to create an account.
  • Each request can include up to 10 images, and each image must be 20 MB or smaller.
  • We may limit or refuse requests to keep the Service available and to stop abuse, including automated traffic.
  • You may not bypass those limits, for example by scripting uploads or rotating IP addresses.
  • If we offer paid features later, the terms shown at purchase become part of these Terms.

Your content

You keep the rights you have in the images you upload ("Input") and, as far as the law allows, in the text and summary produced for you ("Output"). If we have any rights in Output, we assign them to you.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, convert, and transmit Input and Output only as needed to run the Service for you, including through our service providers. The license ends when those files are deleted, which happens automatically after 24 hours, as described in the Privacy Policy. Copy or export anything you want to keep. Input and Output are not used to train AI models.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload the image and to have it read, including consent from any identifiable person shown in it where the law requires that consent.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload or create anything illegal, or anything that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors.
  • Process intimate or sexual images of a person without their consent.
  • Infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
  • Create deceptive content meant to defraud, defame, harass, or impersonate someone, or to fabricate evidence.
  • Upload malware or files meant to harm the Service or its users.
  • Access the Service with bots, scrapers, or other automated means, or resell the Service, without our written permission.
  • Interfere with, overload, or probe the Service without authorization.
  • Reverse engineer the Service, except where the law expressly allows it.
  • Break any applicable law.

We may remove content, block requests, and report illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, to the appropriate authorities.

AI output

A model reads the image. It can miss words, mark a span as [unclear], misread handwriting, or describe a chart without inventing numbers that are not printed. Output can be wrong, and the same image can produce a different result if you run it again. It is not a certified transcription. Do not rely on it for legal, medical, financial, identification, or evidentiary purposes without checking the image yourself. You are responsible for reviewing Output and for how you use it.

Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, and the summarizeimages.com name, belongs to us or our licensors. These Terms give you only the right to use the Service. If you send feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.

Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties for hosting, storage, model inference, and analytics, and pages may link to other sites. We are not responsible for those services. Their own terms may apply.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. KEEP YOUR OWN COPY OF ANY IMAGE YOU UPLOAD. UPLOADED IMAGES AND RESULTS ARE DELETED AUTOMATICALLY AFTER 24 HOURS.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD 50.

Some places do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights that cannot be waived.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising from your Input, your use of Output, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or limit access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, created legal risk for us, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that should survive by their nature, including those on your content, AI output, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, and general terms, will survive.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For a material change, we will also post a notice on the site. Continuing to use the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

General

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
