Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information summarizeimages.com ("we", "us") collects when you use https://summarizeimages.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. The Service works without an account.
By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The short version
- No account. We do not ask for your name, email address, or password to summarize an image.
- Your image is used to read the text and write the summary. It is not used to train AI models. We do not sell personal information.
- Images and results are deleted automatically after 24 hours. Copy or export anything you want to keep.
Information we collect
Images you upload
When you add a JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, GIF, or BMP file (up to 20 MB each, up to 10 images at a time), we receive the image. JPG, PNG, and WEBP are stored as uploaded. Other formats are converted to JPEG so the model can read them. The file is stored under a random path, not under your original file name.
The text and summary
We store the job record needed to show you the result: the extracted text, a short description of what the picture shows, the summary, and any note about text the model could not read.
Technical and log data
Like most websites, the servers that host the Service record technical information about requests. This can include IP address, browser and device type, the page or API path requested, referring URL, timestamps, and error details. We use it to run the Service, enforce limits, and fix problems.
Analytics
On summarizeimages.com we use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people visit and how they arrive. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, and device and browser details. We do not send your images or the extracted text to Google Analytics. Analytics is not loaded on staging or preview hosts.
Information you send us
If you email support@summarizeimages.com, we receive your email address, the message, and any attachments you choose to include.
How we use information
- To extract the text from your image and write the summary.
- To return that result to the browser that submitted the image.
- To keep the Service secure, limit abuse, and fix errors.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the public site is used.
- To read and reply to messages you send us.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Service.
Your images and results are not used to train AI models. We do not look at your images except where needed to investigate a technical problem, an abuse report, or a legal request.
How your images are handled
- Your image is sent to us over HTTPS.
- It is stored under a random path. HEIC, GIF, BMP, and some other files are converted to JPEG first.
- A vision model reads the image and returns the extracted text and summary. The link used for that step expires after 1 hour.
- The result is stored so your browser can load it.
- Uploaded images and job records are deleted automatically after 24 hours. They are not used to train AI models. The Service is not a place to store files.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed for that work:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to valid legal process, to protect the rights and safety of users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. This Policy still applies to information transferred in that case.
Cookies
We do not set our own account or tracking cookie. The summarizer works without one. On the production site, Google Analytics may set these cookies:

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking analytics cookies does not stop the summarizer from working. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Data retention
- Images and results: uploaded images, extracted text, and summaries are deleted automatically after 24 hours. They are not used to train AI models.
- Model links: the private link used to let the model read an image expires after 1 hour.
- Logs and analytics: kept according to the retention settings of our hosting and analytics providers.
- Email: kept for as long as needed to handle your request.
Security
We use HTTPS, private storage, random file paths, and short-lived links. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Because the Service has no accounts, we usually cannot tie stored data to a named person. If you write to support@summarizeimages.com, include the approximate date and time of the upload so we can look for it. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performance of a contract (to provide the summary you request), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, and keeping the Service working), and consent where the law requires it (for example, analytics cookies in some regions).
International data transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, email support@summarizeimages.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will also post a notice on the site.
